And on top of that they expect me to pay more for them to repair their faulty product.I urge anybody considering purchasing a Creative product to consider a more reputable brand. So do they stand behind their product and send out a replacement part. NO.Here is a direct quote from the last email I received from their supposed customer support:Based on the description of the issue that you have provided, it appearsthat the USB cable of your ZEN Mozaic player needs to be scheduled for arepair or replacement. However, it will not be economical for you to ship it for arepair/replacement since you need to pay one-direction shipping cost.I suggest you purchase a compatible USB cable from local electricalshop. If you want to return it for repair/replacement, you may follow thislink to have an RMA issued for your productAll applicable fees will be assessed at the time that your RMA isprocessed in an effort to expedite the repair or replacement of yourproduct. So basically they admit that the product was faulty right out of the box. I only gave it one star because it is not possible to give zero. I for one wish I had listened to all the negative reviews on Creatives Customer "Support". Because this company will not stand behind the pieces of garbage they sell.Well since I am unable to comment on how well the product works, I guess I will have to base my review on their severe lack of customer service. My player came with a faulty USB cable. If you are considering buying this, you should move along to a better piece of equipment. It is apparent to even the stupidest person that if the player works fine with my friends cable, but not at all with mine, that it must be the provided usb cable.Nobody I dealt with at Creative seem to believe me and had me do all this nonsense garbage to figure out the "real problem" as they put it.After wasting several hours with their nonsense, they decided my original assesment was correct.
I should have gotten the gel cover for it when I purchased. Will purchase additional units for Wife & Gifts. I have wached 1 movie, and played with the other features a little. The usage is simple & logical, as is the software included. I have only had my ZEN for 4 weeks. I have listened to 2 books for a total of about 16 hours,,, Which is what I purchased it for.
Thank god I backed up my music and videos on the computer or I would have just lost everything. I loved my Zen when I first purchased it, great sound, vivid video.but then after only four short months it took a big crap on me. The screen went black and it never powered on again.
Every video must be reformatted, even if already in a supported format. It wants to install itself at the "My Computer" level of the computer. Then, why the unit accepts.wma files but not wma playlists is a huge mystery. Can you say "arrogance".
This piece of garbage is the worst electronics item I've ever owned. It appears other users have noticed the syncing issue between video and audio. To make playlists, the files must already be on the unit, and you have to create the playlists by adding files individually through a primitive interface. I had to replace it after three months, and then it broke down again at exactly one year of age.
And when plugged into your computer, the unit wants to start one application or another every 30 seconds, making it difficult for you to use your computer for anything else, when all you want is to have it quietly charge. When playing music tracks, the system will frequently just lock up, and require a complete reset. The hardware connections are intermittent, and the battery life is MUCH less than promised, even with all the recommended low energy settings.Since all problems occurred on more than one unit, I conclude they're generic to the entire product line.Don't waste your money on this product, and don't waste your time getting frustrated trying to use it. and all this after only light usage.First: the software is gawd-awful. I mean, what other application does that.
I think its a great product, although I have not yet figured how to get my vidoes on my tv set, I still think it awesome.
